Man made pike baits are those which are produced by humans, and are not naturally occuring. Such man made pike baits include spinners and lures which are made from plastics, metals, and other similar materials. This baits are designed to mimic small or wounded fish, and come in many different colours and sizes. Different lures and spinners work better in certain conditions than others. Bright and vivid colours tend to work better in muddy, cloudy water, whereas more natural coloured baits work better in clearer waters.
Natural pike baits are those which occur completely naturally in nature, both in and out of the water. The best natural bait by far is small fish, either dead or alive. Fish such as roach and rudd work excellently as live baits and dead baits, whilst fish such as mackerel, sardines, and smelts are other popular choices. These fish can be hooked onto a wire trace and either wobbled or left alive to swim about by themselves.
